PHP does not recognize PECL classes/functions

How do I get PHP to recognize PECL-based classes and functions with
the following environment:

PHP 5.2.0
Windows XP

I have php_fileinfo.dl l in my extension directory, referenced in
php.ini, however, PHP has no clue what any PECL-based class or
function is, unless I use CLI PHP and then it only recognizes the
functions and not the classes.

What else do I need to do?

Hi All, The PHP 5.1.1 documentation says that NIS yp_ functions have been moved to the PECL repository and not bundled with PHP 5.1.1. However, I am unable to find it on the PECL site. Any help in locating the NIS module in PECL is appreciated Thanks in advance

Hi All, PHP documentation reports that the YP/NIS module is not bundled with PHP after 5.0.4 and is moved to the PECL repository. I am not able to locate it. Thes yp_* functions are an integral part of my project and am forced to use PHP 5.0.4 for the project.

Two questions: 1. Is there a way I can find a list of all available php libraries and with which version they can run..? 2. Using php code, is they a way I can find out if I have loaded a specific PECL extension..? (like extension_loaded() for php libraries). Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry, this might be a dumb question, How do I chose between PEAR and PECL, is there any specific case where I would better chose PECL instead of PEAR, or vise versa? Really appreciate, igor.

I'm trying to install the Fileinfo extensions from a PECL library called "fileinfo". The install fails because autoconf cannot be found. I have a custom installation of autoconf running out of my home directory (I do not have root access), so it's not in the default location (presumably something like /usr/bin/autoconf). I don't know how to manually force ./configure and make to look for autoconf in a custom location. I would guess...

What is the state of C#? Somebody in a Linux advocacy newsgroup implied it has saturated (leveled off in growth). Note the 'hard code' pre-Wizards coding wizard Charles Petzold does C# only now. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
