I hope someone can help me, because what I'm going through at the moment trying to edit XML documents is enough to make me want to never edit XML again. I'm looking for an XML editor that has a few features that you'd expect in any editor, except nearly none of them seem to have: 1 - Search and repalce with Regular Expressions. 2 - Search and Replace in an Xpath context. 3 - User specified tag-generation for either on a...

I am looking for a data oriented schema-enforcing XML editor. By schema-enforcing I mean an editor that doesn't just have a button to verify the schema - I want an editor that actively enforces it and makes it difficult or impossible to generate data not conforming to the schema. I have downloaded many XML editors, both free/open-source and evaluation copies of commercial software but so far none of them fits my requirements. Many of...

I'm very new to XML, and have only spent about 10 minutes looking for something I already know I want. Pardon me if the availability of what I want is common knowledge among XML cognoscenti. My subject line doesn't really do justice to my meaning. What I want is an editor for XML that displays XML with a lot less redundancy.

I'm new to HTML and want to learn the basics by learning to code by hand (with the assistance of an HTML editor to eliminate repetitive tasks). Can anyone recommend a good, basic HTML editor that's a step beyond Notepad (not a WYSIWYG tool). Thanks.

Hi Folks. I would like to find a control or code for use with an app I am writing. We need to load a XML document. This XML document has a DTD and we want to allow a user to edit the plain text in the editor. Then the changes should be saved back to the xml file. The idea is very much akin to the HTML Editors which use WYSIWIG. However, we need to be able to extend the functionality of these editors to support functionality that we will...

I know there's a request for a good IDE at least once a week on the ng, but hopefully this question is a little different. I'm looking for suggestions for a good cross-platform text editor (which the features for coding, such as syntax highlighting, etc.) but not a full IDE with all the fancy jazz (GUI developer, UML diagrams, etc.). Ideally, it would be something I could even put on a flash drive and move from computer to computer, but...

Currently I only use Ultra-Edit to write Javascript and debug using the firefox JS debugger. But as the project goes complex, I need to have a more advance editor, such as class/methods browsing, auto-complete, and maybe a build-in debugger if possible? I don't mind to pay for the editor, but what is the best editor now in the market?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
