I want to use sessions to cover myself in case the user switches off cookies
so I am passing the session ID manually through a hidden input field. This
is what I have so far.
index.php page contains:
<?php
$_SESSION = "";
$_SESSION = "";

Hmmm, didn't seem to work. I have set session.use_cookies = 1 and
session.use_trans_sid = 1 in my php.ini file. Index.php contains:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
<?php
ini_set("session.use_cookies", "off");
ini_set("session.use_trans_sid", "on");
session_start();
$_SESSION = "";
$_SESSION = "";
echo "<form method='POST' action='login.php'>

Parse html as php is set to on.
I have two forms OrderTest1 and OrderTest2 and need to be able to validate
the data from OrderTest1 before passing to OrderTest2. The first block of
code below is the first form. This form calls itself and does perform the
validations correctly as I want. However, once the header redirect to
OrderTest2.htm is performed after the isset($POST)) evaluates as
true...

Hi all:
I have a really weird problem. I am developing a customer catalog
system for my company and as such have delved into sessions for
authentication and access levels. So far, I have managed to get a
working system just about finished.
I am building an interface for our customer service folks to use to
manage registered customers and am seeing some weird behavior.

Hi all,
I've been teaching myself C# for a new project at work. I have a bit of
a background in c++ and java but never been what you could call a guru.
I'm having some strange things happening when I pass a class as a
parameter to a Windows Form. Basically, I have a class that has several
fields, two of these fields are an instance of an inner class, the rest
are basic value types (bool's in this case). I have a windows form, the...

Hello,
I am having a problem sending float parameter to a function in another
c file with its declaration in a common header file. When I send the
float with value 1.00000000, the receiving function gets 0. I suppose
the float value gets converted to double and then back to float with
only lower half of double (i.e. 0).
I am using ANSI C declaration. Does anyone know how to fix this. I am
running it on windows at the moment but i believe...

I've been working with VBA for Microsoft Access for a few months now, and now I've got a small task to complete using VBA in Microsoft Word 2003. There are three offices that my company works with, and we'd like to make a certain document pop up a prompt when it loads to ask which office the document will be regarding. The user will select an office, and the value will be passed to a certain spot in the header (the "certain spot" thing isn't...

Recently my web host decided to "upgrade". This change rendered many of my pages useless and I am scrambling to fix the issues, so you may see several posts from me in the coming days.
My first issue is that all of my dropdown menus are passing the last row to the next page as the session variable. The pages that I am talking about can be found at:
Weekly13_Test
The code that follows was operational until the change. Here is my...

I am attempting to write a .NET wrapper for a C++ DLL file, but am having
problems with passing strings as parameters. How should I be writing my C#
function call when the C header file is definined as taking a char * as an
argument? For example the C++ header says
SDCERR GetCurrentConfig(DWORD *num, char *name);
I am using Uint for the *num parameter, which returns the correct value
but for *name, I always get back a string of 6 squares....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
