Does the pear package sub-include use a backslash on linux?

I was trying the pear package on my local winmachine and noticed that
one of the includes has a backslash

<?php

include('Mail.p hp');
include('Mail\m ime.php');

is this a path backslash? i.e. if I access pair on my linux server, do
I have to put a forward slash in between Mail and mime? such as Mail/
mime.php Or does the slash have another meaning? I haven't found a
lot of pear documentation and the one I am reading has that slash,
which I'm not sure is for any host or just for win.

In my experience, PHP took care of that.
But you can use a constant specified by PHP: DIRECTORY_SEPAR ATOR

I'm using windows xp. I have installed pear packages on my server by using the command line, which seems to be the only way to do it. However, I want to reinstall a packege. If I try, I get a meassage saying the package is already installed. For example, even if I delete upload.php, it says http_upload is already installed. Where is it getting this information about what is installed from ? How do I reinstall a package? pete

On the PEAR site, the page for each package lists other packages that are dependent on it. That's nice, but is there way to determine which other packages the package itself depends on? It seems to me that would be much more useful information. So far, the only way I can see is to load the package, see what require()s fail, then try to figure out which packages those files belong to. Surely there's a better way? -- Alan Little Phorm...

I've been battling to install PEAR on Windows XP now for too long. I am not sure what I need to do. When I run go-pear.php from the command line, I get the error message as shown at the end. I included everything in case there is something there that's helpful. I'm trying to install PEAR so that I can use PHPUnit. Thanks for the help!!!!
