Hmmm, didn't seem to work. I have set session.use_cookies = 1 and
session.use_trans_sid = 1 in my php.ini file. Index.php contains:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
<?php
ini_set("session.use_cookies", "off");
ini_set("session.use_trans_sid", "on");
session_start();
$_SESSION = "";
$_SESSION = "";
echo "<form method='POST' action='login.php'>

I have a site where a user logs in and a session variable I created
is used to keep track of the fact that the user is logged in. This
various pages query a MySQL database to get information (mostly to
generate a catalogue and news page). Occasionally when loading a page I
simply get the error "No database selected" when the PHP script attempts
to run the query. Usually I can press reload in my browser (Netscape,
IE, and Opera) and the...

Forgive me if this doesn't make too much sense but I've been working on this
project all day and my brain is a bit fried.
To make some of my code more readable I made a file (called urls.inc) which
I include in my PHP scripts. This file contains functions to return a URL
with the session id tagged on the end. I've now found out that the session
id returned by the functions in urls.inc is not necessarily the current, and
more...

Ok, you all are going to have to bear with me on this one as it is
kinda complicated to explain. I am implementing a company management
suite that requires Role-Based authentiations (ie. users are in groups
and groups have roles). I have one script which is included in EVERY
page in the protected area (masterFuncs.php) and it contains function
declarations as well as the authentication module kick-off. Here is a
snippet from masterFuncs...

Hi,
I am experiencing a problem with recalling a session variable which stores
whether a person is logged in to a "members only" section of a website. This
area of the site has been working flawlessly for a couple of years under
Windows 2000 server but now is very inconsistent following a recent upgrade
to Windows server 2003. Following a login, the login info is passed to this
asp page that checks an Access database for the user name and...

Hi,
I've a problem with trying to retrieve a session variable in an include file.
Basically, the main asp creates a session variable:
<% Session("var1") = "Hello" %>
And then when I click on a button it refers to the include file, which I
believe is all client-side code as there are no server <% %> tags.

Hello,
I first create a session variable 'client' in the login.asp file
The login.asp file opens a file (xxx.asp) with an include file
..
If I write
<!--#include file="../../../data/" & session("client") &
"/language_ger.inc"-->
I have a message stating that the application can't find the file.

Something weird is happening here. I inherited some code that looks
like what is shown below. The problem is that when menu1.php is
included, the session variables are not known in homepage.php. If I
comment out the include of menu1.php, then homepage.php sees the session
variables. I have done this with and without session_start() in
menu1.php. I can't see why it would lose the session variables.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
