Welcome to The Scripts!
There are numerous good books available. Before going into a shooping frenzy, maybe you should have a look at the following PHPm tutorials which are free.
After you have browsed these, you can probably make a better decision on what book you need. http://www.allsyntax.com/tutorials/PHP/ http://devzone.zend.com/node/view/id/627 http://www.tizag.com/phpT/ http://www.phpfreaks.com/tutorials.php http://www.minitutorials.com/webdesi...trotophp_1.php http://bmw.ws.utk.edu/nsu/php/ http://www.developer.com/lang/php/article.php/3288671 http://www.w3schools.com
When you insist on a book list, look at the following: - "Beginning PHP, Apache, MySQL and Web Development", E. Naramore e.a., Wrox Inc., ISBN 0-7645-7966-5
- "Learning PHP 5", David Sklar, O'Reilly, ISBN 0-596-00569-1
- "Beginning PHP 5 and MYSQL, from Novice to Professional", David Sklar, Apress

I might also recommend using, when you need help with a specific function, php.net/[FUNCTION NAME], just put your function there (ex. php.net/str_replace will give you information about the str_replace function), you will also get little snippets of code to learn how to use that specific funstion.
Then you might as well point to the (simple) PHP introduction and tutorial in the PHP manual at Getting Started

Hello all,
I am absolutely brand new to perl, but I understand that it is a very
important aspect of web development to create dynamic web pages.
I am kind of short on money, being a college student and all, and I have
looked at several bookstores for books about perl and:
1. I don't know what topics I should be looking for to learn the basics
of the perl language.
2. Most of the books are too much for me to shell out right now...

makes me feel very weak in C++, even though i can write any project in

I've got a client who wants to see some immediate results on a brand new
website. within a week, they'd like to see the following:
1) basic user authentication (using php sessions/cookies to maintain
authentication)
2) some basic content (text, photos, audio) uploading mechanism
3) basic content browsing in a somewhat neatly formatted presentation
knowing how quickly they wanted something they could look at, i
initially suggested...

Hi guys, I'd like to have from you some advise about using SQL-DMO with
C-sharp. I have found some nice introductory articles in the web (e.g.
http://www.csharphelp.com/archives2/archive342.html) but I'd like much more
information on *effectively* using SQLDMO (with C-Sharp) to:
- programmatically extract a database definition with all its tables,
relations, stored procs and re-create it onto another machine;
- programmatically modify a...

Hi,
I am planning on purchasing VS2005 to learn C# very soon, and I need good
book recommendations. I realize this is a question that may be asked a lot,
but please consider my background:
I have been a ClassicVB/ASP programmer for about 7 years. I have never done
anything with .NET and only have a very basic understanding of the platform.
Recently, I started working on a large JAVA project at my job (even though I
have very little...

I'm looking to write a C# book fairly soon, and the publisher I've
approached wants me to do a bit of market research to find out what
people like and don't like in this kind of book.
I've read loads of reviews of best-selling books on Amazon, so I've got
some ideas from there, but I'd be very interested in hearing what you
all think makes a good C# book.
I'm interested primarily in stylistic things - how light-hearted, what
kind of...

Hi, I'm brand new to programming. Have any suggestions? I'm young.
Was it a good idea to start with python? I was planning on creating a
very simple program that asked yes/no questions for a school project.
-Thanks!

We're looking into building an in-house integrated enterprise system
to manage inventory, work-in-process, and finances, among others. I
am somewhat familiar with VB.NET (veteran VB 6 programmer) and think
that using the .NET framework would be best.
What programming language is ideal for programming in the .NET
framework, just overall, and what has been people's experiences taking
on a massive project like this?
Right now, we use a...

Crockford's JavaScript, The Good Parts (a book review).
This shall perhaps be the world's shortest book review (for one of the

shortests books).
I like Douglas Crockford (because I am a crabby old man too; plus he
_is_
smart and good).. But, how can he write a book on the good parts of
JavaScript
and not mention functions that address CSS & DOM? Weird. It's like

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
