Good web programmer required to develop map system for website

Looking for experienced and resourceful web developer / programmer for
following project:
Or if anyone knows of a company that specialises in this sort of thing would
be grateful if you could let me know!

Need creation/production of an accurate scalable map of UK with a programmed
invisible National Grid layer allowing us to accurately position simple
icons on the map automatically using national grid references from database.

Segments of this map will be served up to pages for our site visitors to
view and to click on the icons.

E.g: When a town (e.g town1) page is accessed on our site by a visitor, a
10mile sq segment of the map is sent to the page. Town1 grid reference/icon
being the center of the map. Also on this map would be other town icons or
whatever we have in database which has a grid reference within the 10mile
sq.

The project is new and i am still in the throws of finding out more details.
I have been looking at the ordinance survey website and others, trying to
find materials for the job. Any help guidance would be appreciated.

Ideally we need a large scalable map of the uk with layers (e.g major roads,
rivers, etc) that we can use and customise.
I dont know how the National Grid will be done which will make the map work.
Any ideas please let me know.
The existing site is mainly php/myql. and we enter new data into it via an
admin page.

Email me your interest and credentials, plus any example url's.

Sincerely,
James

Map project will be really hectic. BTW, I'm curious, why you want to
do this for the whole UK?

Some good resources on this:

I have a simple .NET application with two or three listViews which are filled with icons and when the user click on the proper item, they display the related images. I use "image = null ; " for all images that have been used and are going to be closed. This is how ever no way to reduce the memory consumption. I have noticed , using the task manager, that garbage collector doesn't actually do any collections unless the computer becomes low...

Sigh. I had a working ASPNET application yesterday (using Framework 3.5, running on Server 2003). Today I have the dreaded "a required privilege is not held by the client" error. This occurs whenever I try to debug the app within VS2008. Here's what I did between yesterday and today: 1) Both the debug and the release version of my website use the same SqlServer 2005 server. I was using a trusted connection to develop and debug the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
