Help with syntax - if domain name exists

I am pretty new to php. Can anyone tell me what the proper syntax is
for checking a particular domain from a web form? For instance, I am
looking for an if statement that accomplishes this:

if ($domain=*.mydo main.com)

For some reason, can't get the proper syntax so that sciprt will take.
Thoughts?

That should read

if (fnmatch("*.myd omain.com", $domain)) {
Note that php.net says:

"For now this function is not available on Windows or other non-POSIX
compliant systems."

so if you're on such a system, you may need a more general solution:

if (preg_match('/\.mydomain.com$/', $domain)) {

which will match any string ending ".mydomain.com" .

What is the best function to check if a domain name exists. I had read somewhere that checkdnsrr() can do the job, but unfortunately it is not giving correct result all the time. For example it reports that netvoice.com does not exist but when I go to domain registration websites they indicate that the domain name exist. Thank you John

http://www.icarusindie.com/Literature/ebooks/ Rather than advocating wasting money on expensive books for beginners, here's my collection of ebooks that have been made freely available on-line by their authors. There are lots of them out there but this selection cuts out the junk. If you know of any other good books that are freely available please post a link to them here and I'll consider adding them to the site.

I'm having some strange problems with a VB.NET application that I support. The application currently uses SystemInformation.UserName() and SystemInformation.UserDomainName() to determine who is logged in, and what network domain they are logged into. And for our environment here (logged into a domain), it seems to work just fine.

Hi. I'm having a problem and I really want to understand it. Here's the situation: I have an array of pointers, and each pointer is the head of a linked list of structs. The structs are typedef'd to have the type name 'event.' It's a simple open hash table used to implement events in a game. So, I have a routine that returns the address of one of the pointers in the array, or returns NULL for a key out of range (meaning no bucket for...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
