Looking for PHP learning classes

Both my daughter and I are wanting to take courses in PHP programming.
We both have websites to maintain. Her for her business and me for my
fishing club.

We live in the far north fringes of Houston Texas. Does anyone know of
someplace in the Hempstead, Plantersville, Tomball, Magnolia, Conroe,
Woodlands, North Houston area?

After an hour googling last night, I finally found a catalog for The
North Houston Montgomery County Community College and it showed nothing
for PHP in the computer courses. I will make a trip to the Tomball
College later today.

We are willing to spend some money for good instructions. Like everyone
else, money is hard to come by.

Thanks
Dave

Some other ideas:

* put an ad on Craig's List for a PHP tutor.
* start a local PHP group ( http://www.phpusergroups.org )
* buy a PHP book and work through it together, a couple of chapters per week

Hi, I support an enterprise web application (IE client) built in VB6, with about 200 classes, serving about 7000 users, running on 3 clustered servers. I need to incorporate web reporting for the first time, so I am interested in learning what web reporting options are out there, and the pros and cons of each. In general I need to generate reports with XML documents as inputs, and make them available to all web users. I am partial...

Hello, I was VERY blessed with a Christmas gift of visual studio .net from a man I hardly know who had heard of my plans of software developement. So I am probably the only person in the world who actualy has this great IDE and don't even know vb.net (or c sharp etc.). I have some prior exposure to simple scripting language such as javascript and I understand data types etc. (basic programming concepts and procedures) but I don't have any...

Hi, my name is Mark Linehan. About 20 years ago or so I started learning how to program on the Commodore 64 computer (anyone remember those?) heheheh. I taught myself basic on this little machine to the point that there was nothing I could not do in basic on the 64 and started learning assembly language on it. I moved up to the Amiga, and dabbled in C. Then moved to an IBM 386. At that time I literally knew plain old MS-DOS version(s) of...

Dear, I have experince in C( numerical projects, like engineering problems, scientific applications) I have the basic notion of C++ also, I have read Accelerated C++ until Chapter 7, however it seems that it discusses the std and the other part of the language with your own abstractions. Is that better to read a book first on the basic concepts of C++ language (but not the C part) that gives the basics as if the reader is a beginner...

I am not sure which would be the best place to post this question, so I'm posing it here with Access general questions. I have reached the point many times in Word and in Access where my ignorance of VBA is a real detriment to me. I saw some posts about VBA classes with a particular vendor and the poster was advised not to take the class because of the likelihood of an unskilled trainer. My question is, would taking a Visual Basic...

Hello, MSDN (amongst other places) is full of helpful advice on ways to do data access, but they all seem geared to wards enterprise applications. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I don't have those sorts of clients. Mine are all small businesses whose sites will never reach those sorts of scales. I deal with businesses whose sites get maybe a few hundred visitors per day (some not even that much) and get no more than ten orders per day....

I'm ineterested in learning ASP.NET, in conjunction with both C# and VB.NET. However, i don't really know where to start. Are there classes available at local colleges, or do i have to go through microsoft to find classes? would it be easier to try learning on my own by purchasing Dummies books and microsoft official books? Would it be beneficial to pay someone as a private tutor to help me learn it? thanks in advance for the replies!

I discovered that many of my very busy colleagues are having an extremely difficult time pulling themselves away to take vital training when it requires being away for consecutive days. I just completed training for .NET in Chicago through a mentored learning program that personally helped me to tackle that same issue. Though the mentored learning training allows complete interaction with classroom version labs and interaction with an on...

Hello everybody, I'm working on a website for fast and effective learning using spaced repetition technique. This is the same method used in SuperMemo, Mnemosyne, FullRecall or Anki software. I'd want to create an online version, supporting easy adding of own material and sharing with others. The method is very effective and is great for learning foreign language, learning to exams etc. I wonder that there is no such site running...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
