creating image/area maps on dynamic images

Hello,

I'm generating a dynamic image on a website (using php.net/image
library) and I want add hyperlinks to certain locations on the image -
similar to HTML image map. Could someone pls suggest me a good way of
doing this - with/without having to store the dynamic image.

TIA,
Hemanth

I'm building a site that requires images to be placed into a table dynamically - the name of each image is drawn from a database reference. (e.g database entry is "images/image1.jpg" etc). The problem is that when an image is dynamically inserted in this way (infact its only the location of the file thats dynamically rendered - not the image itself), i have a 2-3 pixel gap at the bottom of each image. Non dynamically attached images do not...

I have an ASP.NET page that draws over 32 dynamic images using an HttpModule object through the <IMG> tag. Since IIS under Win2K Pro has a limit of 10 connections, some of the images do not get drawn because it appears that the connection limit is exceeded (I get a red X for the image). If I right click on the image and select "Show Picture", the image then shows up. Can someone tell me how I can prevent this from happening? I somehow...

I am having a problem with style properties for dynamic images in Mac OS X Safari. By dymanic images, I mean images allocated with the javascript 'new Image()' call. With static images (created with the html <img> tag), I can make the image visible or not, i.e. '<img style="visibility='hidden'" src='xxxx'/>'. But if I create the image dynamically with javascript: new Image() then try to modify the style, Safari chokes, and the Debug...

Is it possible to cache dynamic images in client's browser the same way static images are cached? for example, i'd like to be able to cache this dynamic image: <img src=pic.axd?id=2the same way the browser would cache it if it would say <img src=http://someplace.com/pic.jpg> is this possible? if not, what are my choices/alternatives? thanks in advance,

I have a list of dynamically generated thumbnails. Each image has a path of picture.ashx?id=123. That works well. However, a few (from thousands) visitors have a red-X instead of dynamic images. One of them told me that he was able to see images on a 2003 Windows Server when he added the site to the "Trusted List" (it was using IE Enhanced Security Configuration - a feature of Server 2003). After he added it, he saw the thumbnails. Any...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
