A year or two back I needed a search script to scan thru HTML files
on a client site. Usual sorta thing. A quick search turned up a
neat script that provided great search results. It was fast,
returned the hyperlinked page title, filename, and the body txt (30
preceding and following words) in context with the search word
highlighted. Excellent.!
See it working at: http://www.ipt.co.za
Just search for "firearm"

Hi all --
I'm trying to create a hidden form in the document using only
Javascript -- I don't know what form I want until the user clicks a
button --
I tried the following code, which does create the objects in the
document hierarchy; the problem is it does not insert the HIDDEN field
into the list of form elements.

See the bottom of
http://www.prestonbridge.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index2.htm (4th line of
the club officers section). The mark-up's validated html 4 & css, but in
ie5.0/Win2000 my surname disappears, leaving just "web author: chris
(big space) <myemail.gif>". It's ok (afaik) in other browsers, and even
other versions of ie.
I tried a lot of variations, and eventually found a workaround (at
index.htm) which appears to work, but I'd really...

Does anyone know it is possible to include a small image(.gif .jpeg)
within a <SELECT><option> so that the user would see the option text as
well as a little image(icon) in the option? I know this is not an ASP.NET
related question, but I know this group is knowledgeable and quick with
responses.
Thanks

I've been struggling for a long time with HTML_Quickform from PEAR. The
concept is ideal, but, the implementation is (IMHO) a bit of a kludge.
As a developer I want a quick and easy way to generate/validate/process
forms without hand hacking HTML, however, I also want it to be easy to
do! The HTML_Quickform method seems to require more work than it should
and whenever you start getting really complicated forms, the hassle
starts to...

Hi All;
I, like others, have been frustrated with designing
forms that look and flow the same in both IE and Firefox.
They simply did not scale the same.
I have discovered, to my chagrin, that IE7 does not seem
to offer any way to control the font size of a text input
element.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
