Problem with writing information from PHP to LDAP-tree (labeledURI)

Hello,
I am writing some LDAP-scripts in PHP. One of the scripts has to add
new objects(urls) to the tree using the ldap_add command. The problem
is that I cannot add objects of the type "labeledURIObje c" to the
tree.

The part of the script posing problems is the following one:

$entry["objectClas s"]="labeledURIObj ect";
$entry["labeledURI "]="http://www.test.com";
$r=ldap_add($ac ,
"labeledURI=htt p://www.test.com,ou =Webservers,ou= MYCOMP,dc=Globa l,dc=com",
$entry);

When I execute the script, I get an error telling me that the
add-operation could not be completed.

I tried to modify the script a little bit adding just a simple OU in
the webservers subtree, having:
$entry["objectClas s"]="organizationa lUnit";
$entry["ou"]="test"
$r=ldap_add($ac , "ou=test,ou=Web servers,ou=MYCO MP,dc=Global,dc =com",
$entry);
and everything works fine

So the problem has to be anywhere with my URI-object, perhaps a
problem of format???

Can someone help me please?

Thanx

CB

Hi, I'm trying to get secure authentication with Novell EDirectory running. PHP Version is 4.3.1 compiled with ldap and openssl. I copied the Novell root-certificate into the OpenSSL Certificate folder (/etc/ssl/certs) and made sure that the ssl handshake is fine: # openssl s_client -CApath /etc/ssl/certs -connect servername:636

Hi, I'm developping a module in PHP to get the users of a LDAP server and add them in a Postgre database, where normal users are too. I've managed to do this "easily" but now a new problem shows up. When a user tries to logon onto the platform, I have to verify whether he is a normal user or not. If he is a normal user, I check the login and password basically, with just a select into the database.

Hello all, I am writing an aspx (Visual Basic) logon app for a friend (he needs to be able to reset expired passwords, so the regular windows logon won't work). Everything is in the same domain and secure, so that isn't really going to be a problem. I created a logon page, that checks user name and password against active directory:

In this brief tutorial I'll describe how you retrieve information from an Active Directory through the OLE-DB extension. While it is possible to use the LDAP extension to achieve the same goal, as you will see using Microsoft's OLE-DB provider is much easier. You will need to download and install the OLE-DB extension. Here's the location once again: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=171247&package_id=198554. See my...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
