I'd suggest that since IIS is written exclusively for Windows, and is
able to take advantage of insider knowledge, IIS would be faster.
However that is pure conjecture.
I suspect that you would get the exact opposite answers on an asp newsgroup!

Eh? The ASP guys would say Apache is faster? Go on, I dare you to ask
on an ASP group. You will be evangelised, resistance is futile ;o)

Please refer to the official documentation on that subject:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/platform/windows.html

IIS fans will say that IIS is better, Apache fans will say that Apache is
better. I, being a LAMP guy, prefer Apache for the ease of the installation
and maintenance. I once had to manage a IIS server with several
virtualhosts, and I still have nightmares about that.

If there is even a possibility you might migrate off windows, go with
Apache.

We use Apache and php (although we don't have php compiled in with apache). Our Unix like server (FreeBSD) that has php (and Apache) on it that today communicates with the postgresql database on another Unix like server (Linux). I configured the php set of libraries with postgresql support...

We are trying to standardize on a solid, open, secure Web Server architecture. We are running Apache 2 on Windows 2003 Server. For static HTML, JSP and ColdFusion apps, this is running perfectly, but now we need to be able to run ASP .NET applications. I have read about the "mod_mono" module for Apache that allows .NET applications to run on Apache, but this seems to only work with Apache on Linux, not Windows. Anyone have success with...

Hi all! I just got asp.net to work on apache, with mod_aspdotnet :)) ..NET 1.1 works directly without any serious problem. ..NET 2.0.40903 (october preview): 1."C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.40903" must be added into apache's path, otherwise apache can't find aspnet_isapi.dll

Hello, Has anyone had any success running SQL Server Express on Vista with Apache via PHP? My PHP works fine, Apache works fine, and SQL Server Express works fine in Management Studio, but I cannot connect via this call: $myServer = "servername"; $myUser = "username"; $myPass = "password"; $myDB = "myDB";

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
