How can I find out about building a hosting cluster for IIS/PHP ?

Hi,

My company is interested in building a IIS/PHP hosting cluster.

Where can I find informaiton on building such a cluster? I've already
tried searching the net, but I've come up more or less blank.

That's a really broad topic - You probably won't find clear enough
information on the web regarding a task of that nature. I usually hit the
local bookstore when a project that big comes down the pipe, and if books
don't do the trick I start looking for classes to take.

Thanks for the advice. I narrowed the topic a bit and got good results
looking for IIS clustering.

Hi: I'm trying to setup a MS Cluster but I don't know if it is feasible to configure it in the way I think. I have two machines with win2k server and MSSQL-2000 one of them is currently performing as the production database and the other one is the backup. The secondary one is keeping updated via the "Log Shipping" technic.

Hello, I have what may seem a bit of an odd question, but here goes: Is there any advantage to having an operating-system clustered set of machines running DB2, as opposed to using DB2's PDF to "cluster" machines? The discussion came up due to a cluster of Linux servers we have which are not being used very much. The suggestion was to use them as a database cluster. I actually had no idea on how to answer this question, since I...

Folks, I am currently researching the possibilities to build up a Web farm based on ASP.NET 2.0. However, I can't find good guides and HOWTOs regarding this. I guess that there should be some load balancing infrastructure in front of the Web server instances (running my Web application). Also, I should consider SQL server replication as well. Do you have some good resources showing how to build up a Web farm, how to physically allocate...

I need some very basic advice. Let's suppose I need to do some mysql queries and updates to a database. I also need to dynamically update parts of a web page that the user is looking at based on the results of these queries. What are my options for server-side scripting languages and what you recommend. I've heard quite about about Ruby on Rails--does that cover everything php does or is php a better way to go. Thanks!

Hi, I am trying to get a small group of volunteers together to create Windows binaries for any Python extension developer that needs them, much like the package/extension builders who volunteer their time to create Linux RPMs. The main thing I need are people willing to test the binaries to make sure the extension is stable. This would require installing the binary and probably downloading the source too to get the developer's test

I need to figure out programmatically if an instance is a cluster or non-cluster. Also, if it is a cluster what are nodes and associated cluster directories in the instance. All I know is the instance name. I am looking for this information for MSSQL, Oracle, DB2 and Sybase databases. Thanks in advance for any help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
