Howdy,
I PROMISE that I've Googled this... =)
I've written a PHP script to run from the command line. I can also run
it from a shortcut on my desktop, etc. and it works great.
However, I can't remember how to suppress the "DOS box/CLI
window/Command Interpreter/whatever *you* call it" that appears. I
recall that there's a switch that one can put in the shortcut/or in a
batch file to suppress the big black window...
Also, I've recently become interested in PHP-GTK. Does anyone have some
favorite sites they'd recommend? I'm looking for real recommendations ,
not "Google PHP-GTK" ;)
Thanks,

This is how i did it on my sisters win98 box:
I have a batch file that contains the commands that need to be executed.
Then i created a shortcut to that batchfile on the destktop.
Then i right-clicked on that shortcut, editted the properties:
second tab(program) close window after completion.

Ah, looks like I forgot to state that I'm calling the script from cron
(yes, on a Windows machine).

If you are using the DOS command.com of the NT cmd.exe then
the switch you need to use is the /C option.
COMMAND [[drive:]path] [device] [/E:nnnnn] [/P] [/C string] [/MSG]
CMD [/X | /Y] [/A | /U] [/Q] [[/C | /K] string]
For more details see the help for either tools:
C:\>command.com /?
C:\>cmd.exe /?

Is there any one "add to favorites" code that will work for IE, NS, AOL, and
a host of others? At least some code that will give me an effective "add to
favorites" for the highest percentage of users. The code in my searches have
been disclaimed has working with this but not that. I'm not sure how old
some of this code is either.
thanks!

I am trying to build an online bookmark manager and I want to try and
download the favorites in a browser. I know you can do
window.external.AddFavorite but can you do the reverse in any way, to
retrieve them from the browser into a page? I would assume that this
is not possible because of security reasons but there must be some way
of doing it?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

favorites menu like the one in Internet Explorer 6. All I got so far is a
favorites button, and a blank new windows that appears when you click the
button. Can anyone please give me a good step by step instruction about how

Thank You,

does any body knows how to open a new IE window and close the favorites tab
and history tab (if tabs enabled)? problem is that when opening new
windows(pop-ups) with absolute size and the user has favorites or history
views enabled then the content in page is wraped and scroll bars appears
everywhere.
thanks,
alex.

I have actually asked a pretty similar question here in the past, without a great deal of success. But I've decided to try a different tack.
So, what are the ways in which a network admin could remove the Favorites menu from Windows Explorer (presumably by use of a group policy), and how can I overcome it and put my favorites menu back where it belongs?
Originally I was able to get it back by correcting...

I would like to be able to build a set of folders and links in the browser
(IE 6+) "favorites" to create semi-static lists of links configured to the
users profile and preferences. I haven't worked with controling browsers so
I'm looking for a place to start. BTW - I'd like to keep as much server
side as possible. Thnx

Windows Script Host Object library.
Full name: Windows Script Host Object Model
LibName: IWshRuntimeScripting
Location: ...\WINDOWS\system32\wshom.ocx
The present tip is closely related to the previous stuff written by ADezii concerning Scripting Runtime library. Both libraries share the same functionality as for file functions but the library in the topic provides additional possibilities which may be advantageously used.

Hi All,
One disappointment in VS2008 is that Microsoft has not improved the
'favorites' section of the help browser.
Specifically, an ability to organise favorites in folders, and to sort them
by name would be nice.
I'm hoping these features are already there and someone here can enlighten
me on how to use them, but if they aren't, is there a back door way to access

Hello,
i'm seeking for a Favorites and Shortcut image for a TreeView Control.
(The Shortcut image should be combined with the object image with
DrawImageUnscaled)
They should look like in Internet Explorer.
I tried the Favorites.png and the Shortcut.png in
VS2008ImageLibrary\1033\VS2008ImageLibrary\Objects\png_format\WinVista
but the Favorits.png is rotated. This looks very bad.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
