Length of get parameters

Hi all!

Please tell me how long the GET parameter can be. Is there a limit for
each parameter itself, or a limit in the whole?
I thought there would be a maximum of 1024 characters, but it seems to
work with more.

thx

Part of the RFC2616 (@ http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2616.txt) states:

<quote>
The HTTP protocol does not place any a priori limit on the length of
a URI. Servers must be able to handle the URI of any resource they
serve, and SHOULD be able to handle URIs of unbounded length if they
provide GET-based forms that could generate such URIs. A server
SHOULD return 414 (Request-URI too long) status if a URI is longer
than the server can handle (see section 10.4.15).

Note: Servers ought to be cautious about depending on URI lengths
above 255 bytes, because some older client or proxy
implementations might not properly support these lengths.
</quote>

So, to be safe I'd try to limit the whole thing to 255 characters or
less :-)

I think it's really nice to be able to do code like someVariable = someMethod(new SomeClass("some text")); However, as method signatures are number and types of parameters, you're limited to having one constructor that accepts a single string, for example. Call me crazy, but wouldn't it be useful to be able to have a syntax where you could set properties in a statement like the one above, without being limited to just what you could...

Is it possible to pass variable length parameters to a C function exported in a DLL (i.e. using varargs.h without resorting to say passing a delimited string to be parsed in the function)? i.e. I want something like this: #include <varargs.h> CCONV foo( char* fmt, va_list args ) ;

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
