fine.
I have now went and tried to install DOMXML into PHP by simply
uncommenting the extension = php_domxml.dll (or something like that) in

page where I try to load a xml file:

I've installed PEAR in my local area, on my shared host, under htdocs
but I'm anticipating a number of issues.
I'm forcing use of PHP5 with an .htaccess file, but by default the
host runs PHP4
That could mean that pear is installed under the php4/ area, but not
php5 ?
go-pear prompted me to install a number of packages, including DB,
which my webhost already has made available. If I do install DB using

I'm starting a database/web interface project, using Linux and postgresql.
I've programmed in PHP4 in the past, and for this new project am unsure
whether to use PHP4 or PHP5.
My main concerns are stability and security.
What are the pros/cons/issues for PHP4/PHP5 with apache (either 1.3 or 2)?
TIA,

I'm reading the instruction at
http://us3.php.net/manual/en/ref.java.php
It's too short and seems to apply to PHP4 only. We installed PHP5 on
Linux into default location, /usr/local/lib/php. There's no ext
directory under it, although php.ini says
extension_dir = "./"
Anyway, we need to have php_java .so and .jar files. I searched
http://pecl.php.net but didn't find anything that has "java" in the
name. Other than following the...

I just apt-get installed php5 and many libs, including php5-ming.
When I try:
"#php5 -v"
I get the error:
"Unable to load ..ming.so"
But I checked, it sits right there where php5 complains it can't find
it.
I have 1giga RAM and 2 gigas of swap, so it should not be lack of

Hi
I've got a really strange problem, and can't find out why it's not
working as intended.
in order to use php4 and 5 together on a webserver and the requirement
for running as different users, I use suexec and a wrapper script for
php files. to make it a bit clearer, i'll post the different snippets:

Hi,
I am slowly moving my code to php5.
But I would like to make it backward compatible in case something bad
happens, (and to make sure I understand what the changes are).
The way the constructors work seem to have changed quite a bit and I am
not getting the same behavior across the versions.

Can somebody please tell me how to install the Tidy module for PHP 5
on a Mac? I tried what the php.net website said, which is running the
command "pecl install tidy" but the installation failed somewhere in
the make script. (It looks like PECL is trying to install Tidy version
1.2, even though the documentation says that's only for PHP4.) Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's the output from the "pecl install tidy" command in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
