cookie problem in new window when browsing using file explorer not internet explorer

We have a webpage, which pops up a new window, prompting logged-in user
to upload images. This works completely fine with regular internet
explorer because we use cookie to verify if users are logged in or not.

However, if somebody were browsing our website using windows' file
explorer, not internet explorer, they have no problem be recognized via
cookie when they browse to a regular page that needs loggin, but when
they try to upload a image in the new pop up window, they will be told
that they didn't login.

Does anybody have any idea?

Thanks.

I wonder how's that possible... :-?

Windows file explorer *is* Internet Explorer. I suppose you mean that your
login system does not work when you browse the PHP documents in your hard
disk rather than through a web server. That's normal, that way PHP is not
parsed, but it won't affect anyone but you.

Need help.. I am creating cookies in php, which works fine in Mozilla in the same session, for example I can create them and then go to another page and then come back to the page and see the results of the cookie take effect. But in Internet Explorer I create the cookies, but have to close the browser window/session and reopen the browser for the cookies to be read/take effect. Here is my code.

I link to a web site from an Excel spreadsheet. The page i link to is getCookie.asp which sets a cookie then returns back some html which opens a new window, to the same site but a different page (same folder). The cookie is not received. Can someone explain why? I worked around this by adding a cache-control header with a value of no-cache. This fixes the problem. Unfortunately that causes another problem with Internet Explorer...

I've just bought a new Windows Server 2003 and I am trying to move an exiting FrontPage website to this new machine. I can't get ASP pages to run. IIS 6.0 has been installed. From the snap-in, I have configured "Web Services Extensions" to allow CGI Extensions, ISAPI Extensions, Active Server Pages, FrontPage Server Extensions 2002, Internet Data Connector, Server Side Includes and WebDAV. All of this appears to be running fine.

I am trying to allow a user to view a PDF in a new window. I currently have this working using the following: <a href="./pdf.do?parameter=01121980" target="top"><b>pdf</b></a> The problem with the above solution is the back/forward buttons and all the other browser options. Because of this, I am trying to get the following solution to work: <a href="#" onclick="popUp('./pdf.do?parameter=01121980')"><b>pdf</b></a>

I am using window.open to create a small window with no tool bars to display some text information. My problem is if I click on a link, say in an email IE uses my small window instead of opening a new one. Is there a way to stop this? Thanks AJS

If I manage to call the following bit of javascript in IE and MZ w = window.open("", "s", 'status=no,resizable=no,width=450,height=450'); I get a window that is not resizable and without a statusbar. Yet FF gives me both a statusbar and the window is resizable! Does this mean that FF does not support these "features" or is there a different way to code them for FF?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
