I am using OS X and Dreamweaver MX. I am trying to make a connection
to the MySQL Server from within Dreamweaver using the Applications
panel and clicking on the "+". A window opens asking for:
Connection Name: Apress
MySQL Server: localhost
User Name: apress
Password: xxxxxx
Database (Select):
When I click select so the Dreamweaver can browse to the databases in
MySQL the connection is not being made because Dreamweaver cannot find

This may have been better posted in the advocacy list but I am not a
subscriber.
We recently purchased Dreamweaver MX and I was a little surprised to
find that one of its pre-defined scripting systems is PHP + MySQL. I
haven't done much exploring of what is actually offered but wondered
whether any one had tried to convince Macromedia to provide a PHP +
PostgreSQL or at least a PHP + anydb.

I am confused....
I am trying to start getting into internet programming
and creating web pages with a "wow" effect beond the
plain-jane html document, but I dont know where to start.
I have heard and have been bombarded with dreamweaver,
but I dont know how all of that ties togeter, if it
does at all. Is vb.net all I need? Is dreamweaver
just a faster way of producing web pages independent
of vb, or......??????

I have Apache Web Server 2.0.55 installed locally with MySQL 5.0.18-nt, and
of course PHP 5.1.2
I also have installed phpMyAdmin. It is accessible through
http://localhost/phpMyAdmin.
The pathing for directories is
C:\Apache\Apache2\htdocs-root folder for Dreamweaver 6.0 otherwise know as
MX 2004 I think.
C:\mysql, C:\mysql\data-databases including phpmyadmin
C:\php
C:\Apache\Apache2\phpmyadmin for phpMyAdmin scripts.

Ok, So far I have been pulling my hair out!
I can't get dreamweaver mx8 (on mac osx) to access my database, which is sat on a streamline.net shared windows server. I have acsess to my database through phpmyadmin. That is how i created the tables.
However, I have been through lots of help sites and still can't get dreamweaver to see database to assess my tables.
I have tried using other gui such as navicat and I can access my tables...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
