>> Please help with a simple PHP script

Good morning,

I am sure this will be a no-brainer for a lot of you. Put quite simply,
I am looking for a way do a search within a string for all of my HTML
tags. Once it finds those HTML tags, I will like to wrap some code
around it. For example:
<p /> ----> <![CDATA[ <p /> ]]>
<b /> ----> <![CDATA[ <b /> ]]>
<a href="someurl.h tml"> ----> <![CDATA[ <a href="someurl.h tml"> ]]>

How can I do this? Since someurl.html will be dynamic, I cannot use the
str_replace function. Thank you for your help.

Why not?
str_replace(arr ay('<','>'),arr ay('<![CDATA[ ',' ]]>',$str)
does the trick.

But if you are trying to encasulate html in xml you should use
htmlspecialchar s($str,ENT_QUOT ES) instead.

Hey Daniel,

Thanks for the advice. The str_replace code is giving me a parse error.
It is saying "Parse error: parse error, unexpected ';" Do you know
where the error is taking place? Maybe a quote or something? Thank you.

Try this str_replace(arr ay('<','>'),arr ay('<![CDATA[ ','
]]>'),$str), i think he missed a ')'

I have done this simple function, it seems to work as intended, to solve a problem i have had for a while. I couldnt find any sample around that was working for me. I would like to test it with you and see if there are any improvments that i should make ;-) It should be fast and if possible compatible with todays modern browser-standards. It should be activated by the onload-event. This is my code, free for all to use:

Hi, it might be a simple solution but I do not see it. The problem is that I have the following file stored on my local harddrive. All references are URL to a remote computer. It is working, i.e. the code is not throwing an error (btw the field should link to other pages by clicking them). The strange behavior is, that I copy the file to the remote computer and execute it by typing http://www.smartframe.de/dumm.html (everybody

Hello, there is a known problem with Opera and the execution of content shown in <NOSCRIPT> tag. Everythings works fine, if there is only one simple script like: http://www.dr-wald.de/test/Opera-NOSCRIPT.html Switching off Javascript will show the alternative content. Javascript enabled will only show the JS-content, _not_ the <NOSCRIPT> content.

Hello! I am back with another question. Remember I am a new JavaScript student and I am aware that this code does not check for all the possibilities and that as a "NEW" JavaScript student I am not expected to check for everything. At any rate, the problem I am having with the following code is that it does not clear the fields once I press the SEND button. So can anyone here enlighten me as to what is causing the problem.

I'm trying to design an HTML page that can edit itself. In essence, it's just like a Wiki page, but my own very simple version. It's a page full of plain old HTML content, and then at the bottom, there's an "Edit" link. So the page itself looks something like this: <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>blah</TITLE></HEAD><BODY> <!-- TEXT STARTS HERE --> <H1>Hello World!</H1> <P>More stuff here...</P>

Does anyone know it is possible to include a small image(.gif .jpeg) within a <SELECT><option> so that the user would see the option text as well as a little image(icon) in the option? I know this is not an ASP.NET related question, but I know this group is knowledgeable and quick with responses. Thanks

I frequently find myself wanting to insert some basic client-side JavaScript functions in the page of an ASPX of mine. But I find it so frustrating that I have to actually contruct my JavaScript in C# on the server-side and render it to the client because I can't use the IDs of my controls as they are written in the HTML page itself. Rather, I have to use Control.ClientID to get that ID that I can use in the client-side JS. So my...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
