saving a session

Hi Folks

I have been trying to find out how I can save a session - so far without success.

I use PHP in combination with MySql and I would like my users to be able to save their sessions in my database so that they can
retrieve it later... Meanwhile, this will also allow me to analyze their choices (what searches they did, etc...).

I have been searching the net, but so far without a lot of success.

Is this a straightforward exercise?

Cheers

You should refine your search techniques.

Yes, create a custom sessionhandler, unser session in the online
reference:
http://nl3.php.net/manual/en/functio...ve-handler.php
(complete with a link to a mysql session handler it seems).

Hi! Anyone who knows about saving serialized data to database, coz I have a problem with that. If I just serialize my session data and then deserialize it, it works. But when I save it between those actions into Oracle database into long row field, it doesn´t. Below is some code.

I am optimizing my web application written in ASP/VB.NET 1.1. I have number of pages that have dropdown list server controls that contain large number of items. Before redesigning the data access I would like to try by saving the view state to the server if this can speed up the access to these heavy pages. Could somebody give me a working example on saving the viewstate to the server written in VB. Thanks

Hi, Would someone be able to shed some light on what is the cost of saving a DataTable to session vs saving a custom object of the same data. For example, let's say I had a DataTable with 1000 records and each record had 10 columns, how much extra cost is involved in saving that vs, a custom object with 10 get/set properties in a ArrayList holding 1000 instances of the object with the same data?

Hi, I want to be able to come up with some way of navigating around a system that allows me to save certain screen info (Say combo box setting) so that when returning to the screen from a link on another screen it remembers the screen settings as they were. Using javascript can obviously be messy as I found Session variables could be overkill since different screens have potentially different

I have an asp.net web page that: 1. Shows a message 2. Posts back (using javascript) 3. Reads contents of a file 4. response.write the contents of the file to the browser My issue is this: If a user hits this page and decides to save the page for offline browsing, they are not saving the output of the response.write, but instead the html that shows the message and calls

I have an app that I have different "sections" that I want to switch back and forth from, all while having the server maintain viewstate for each page. In other words, when I am on Page1.aspx and set textboxes, radio buttons, etc - that viewstate is fine. Then I have a linkbutton that does a Server.Transfer over to Page2.aspx. When I Server.Transfer back to Page1.aspx, the viewstate info is lost. I ran across another example of this last...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
