Saving Prev Links and certain form info for reuse

Stu
Hi,

I want to be able to come up with some way
of navigating around a system that allows me to save certain screen info
(Say combo box setting) so that when returning to the screen from a link
on another screen it remembers the screen settings as they were.

Using javascript can obviously be messy as I found
Session variables could be overkill since different screens have potentially
different
screen saving requirements although there is some comonallity

Also saving the link u came from this might also not be from a menu but a
link on a page and could be a server side or javascript link
Also I have read u should keep session variables to a minimum although some
sort of class object holding screen state in a session might be a good way to
do it

Any Ideas

TIA

Stu

I have a search page with 7 different field options to search upon. The user can use any or all options. On the results page I'd like to put at the top of each column and ASC and DESC link to resort the results in the user's choice. How do I save that original query string to reuse in the sort links? My results could spread across many pages, so I'm guessing that I would have to query the database again for each sort. thanks!

I suppose this is a meta-html question, but it seems to go directly to an authoring issue. Which order of next, home (menu, index, main, contents), prev links do you prefer, and why? 1. next | home | prev or

Hello. I'm developing Windows.Forms based applications, and each will need per-user persistent data consisting of user preferences, last form size/position, and the like. Is there a standard or recommended approach to this? I'm aware that such data is often stored in an appropriate HKCU\Software subkey and/or Application Data subfolder. What I haven't figured out yet is if there is some convenient ..Net component or mechanism which...

Dear Groups I've used paging with a datagrid in C# at least a hundred times, but for whatever reason, I cannot get the prev /next to appear as links. It is absolutely certain that the number of records exceed the page size. Code is as follows: <asp:datagrid id="grdStores" runat="server" allowpaging="True"

This may reveal my poor programming skills, but here goes... I'm building a pricing tool for my business. I'm nearing the end of the project, and I've been asked to be able to save quotes in some sort of database (Major Feature Creep). For each quote, I've got two kinds of variables. The first are global for the quote, such as numQuoteRows QuoteFinalCost CustomerID

Hi I'm new to the forum and also a VERY new user of Access to develop databases. I'm building a DB for a driving instructor acquaintance, and he wants a button on the pupil data entry form which he can click to flag a pupil as "Do Not Rebook" (i.e. if they're a non-payer or something). Upon clicking the button, he wants a value to be recorded in the appropriate field in the table (so we can report on it later) and he also wants the...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
