Perl script window closing immediately after running

5 New Member
Why do perl console windows close immediately after the script finishes to run even if there was some output to show? I want my scripts to pause and show the results and oonly close after the user clicks the close button.

I would say, at the end of your Perl script put the following:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. print "Press ENTER to exit:";
  2. <STDIN>;
  3.
That should pause the window and wait for the enter key to be pressed.

Regards,

Jeff

Is it possible to run a Perl script from within a javascript? I have an existing javascript that provides some data - and I want to write that data to a text file on my server via a Perl script (that I also already have). Both scripts work great - I just don't know how to make them work together. Is this even possible?

When I a launch this script from Command Prompt, it works perfectly fine, however when the same script is launched from a DLL hosted in a particular Service, the script fails to read the envrionment variable. Does any one has any clue, whats going wrong ? Regards,

I am running on windows XP with a fresh install of wamp5 (1.7.2) and mediawiki. I am trying to call a perl function from within php using proc_open. The perl script is being executed and returns a successful exit value, and I can read the results it prints to STDOUT in PHP, but the perl script does not see STDIN from PHP. Since I want to use the perl script as a filter and I don't want to create an intermediary file, this is problematic....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
