Hi.
I would like to be able to mimic the unix tool 'uniq' within a Perl script.
I have a file with entries that look like this
4 10 21 37 58 83 111 145 184 226
4 12 24 42 64 92 124 162 204 252
4 11 23 44 67 95 134 168 215 271

Hi Folks:
I've been looking (aka googling) around with no success.
I need a usability beyond 'pop()' method when removing an Array
elements. For example:
oName = new Array('Lucas','Brasilino','Silva');
oName.remove('Brasilino');
oName.toString(); // puts out 'Lucas,Silva'

Hello - I've read a ton of stuff about deleting duplicate values in an array. They are all very useful - they just haven't addressed an array of objects.
Here's my array:
var sDat = ;
The array is produced from JSON sent to me from a database query. I can't do a "group by" in the sql query - i actually need the repeats in a different array.
Anyway - I want to be able to remove duplicate sDat.sid entries in my sDat array - but I'm...

I just started teaching myself Perl a couple days ago, and am looking forward to what this will give me for my Linux administration skills. Any help on this will be appreciated.
I ran into a problem in writing a simple script for searching for an entry in a file, then erasing the entire line. I know this can be done with grep -v in the Linux command line, but I felt I needed the practice.
The problem I'm having is that the script works,...

I have a large object with many sub-objects. They may go down 4 or 5
levels and I'm not sure how best to code a method that does operations
on that data. Here's an attempt to make it an isolated example:
var level1={
info:"abc", //lots of other properties here alongside info
level2:{
moreinfo:"def", //lots of properties at this level too
level3: //various other level 3 objects
},

Could anyone please tell me how to get the number of duplicate rows based on a particular cell value of each these duplicate rows. I mean all the cell values of a row will not be duplicated but a individual columns cell value will be duplicated and I need to create a separate excel with...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
