Hi bunny02,

You'd probably be wise to learn a little perl before diving in with both feet, but I have always found that I learn best by picking a project that I want done real soon in the process, so I won't discourage you. :-)

I think the general consensus is that about the best place to start is the Llama book, but soon after that you want to look at the LWP modules for web access.

Best Regards,
Paul

In addition to Paul's excellent input, the next time you post, it would be a great idea if you were a bit more descriptive about what you are testing and how you want to test it. Also, be sure to include the code the you have tried or are trying . I know you haven't written any, but that is for next time.

Regards,

Jeff

OK, here's my 2p worth: === Q. Why am I getting the error message 'Headers already sent'? A. PHP produces this error message when you try to set a header for a web page after you have already started sending out the content of the page. Web content is always delivered with a few headers at the top, ending with a blank line. For example, a web page might start like this:

I am just getting started with Python, and I think I may be thinking about it wrong. I'd like to be able to work interactively with some code that I've got in a file. The only interpreted language I have much experience with is Tcl/Tk, and in that I would use "source file.tcl" in the console to load my source. Is there a similar command in python? I know I can run my file as a script, but since I'm just experimenting with how the language...

As part of our QA of hardware and firmware for the company I work for, we need to automate some testing of devices and firmware. Since not everybody here knows C#, I'm looking to create a new scripting language that makes writing automated tests simpler. Really, I'm looking to kind of abstract the power of the C# language into a simpler language that's easier to learn. The script files would be interpreted by a script interpreter...

Hi all, I want to write up a test automation class library for our in-house app, which I've never done before. The app is functionally a 2-tier GUI-datalayer one, and I basically want to automate user processes such as: 1) entering a bit of text into one of the textboxes, 2) moving to the next gui screen (thus committing gui data to the db), 3) and then hitting the "previous screen" button, returning to the

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
