I have a web app that needs to parse through a file that is located on the
client machine. I get the file string from a query string & then parse it.
It is working fine on my development box but when I put it out on the test
server the application is looking for the file on the server & not on the
client machine.
I am essentially taking the query string & using a stream reader to read the
file.
I'm sure i'm doing something...

Hello,
I have a requirement wherein, a user clicks on a file name in an
ASP.NET web application, and the file should automatically be
downloaded (Without showing the "Open", "Save As") in the local machine
at a pre defined path (path defined in the registry), and launch the
file in its associated application.
I think this can be done through ActiveX Controls, but i dont know how
to create ActiveX controls in .NET??

A Web Application
Hello I have a .NET project, a Web Application and I need to save a file
with some data the
user selects. If I use the command FileOpen it will save the file in the
server and not in the local machine where I'm running the application. Is
there a way to save a file in the local machine and not the web server. I
use the function GetFolders and brings me the directories in the path but
for the server machine, not the...

When users submit a Form with a SQL query, the resultset is retrieved
from a MS-Access database table which is then exported to an MS-Excel
worksheet. After the records get exported to MS-Excel, I want to give
users the option to download the Excel file to their local machine. In
other words, when users click a download link, I want the Save As..
dialog box to pop-up so that users can save the Excel file to their
local machine (note that I...

Is there a way to create a form in a local html file where the
contents of the form are written to a local file when a 'save' button
is selected?
It would be nice if it was as easy as changing "somesite.com" to
"file:///C:/whatever" and "post" to "save"... in the following form:
<form action = "somesite.com" method="post">
<p<textarea name="Text" rows="20" cols="80"</textarea>
<input value="Send" type="submit"><input type="reset"</p>...

Hi All,
I know this might be a silly question to ask but i was just wondering,
is there a way to save a specific MDB file , which is accessed from the server,
in to the local machine in a specific folder.
It will be good if there is a way so that the user can create a backup of the database they use into the local machine before they close.
is there any way or any other similar operation that could do this task???!!!!

Hello!
I'm trying to copy a file from another computer on the network that I do not
have permission with my current logon details to access.
If I open the folder using the Windows file manager with the path "\\
192.168.2.2\temp" (where temp is a shared directory on server \\192.168.2.2),
windows prompts for a User Name and password of a user who has permission on
that computer to access that directory. If I enter valid details, the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
