Class::Param - What is it?

135 New Member
Hi Guy's,

Can you explain to me what is the 'Param Class' and what is it used for? I've just visited CPAN to find out what the Param Class however CPAN only shows the methods used by this class, such as:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. $value = $param->get($name);
  2.
  3. $param->set( $name => $value );
  4.
  5. $param->add( $name => $value );
  6. $param->add( $name => @values ).......and so on.
  7.
Many Thanks in advanced

Kind Regards

Ravi

Greetings Ravi,

cpan Class::Param

Class::Param is simply one of the many modules on cpan intended to make object oriented programming a little easier in perl. I've never used it, but it appears to simply give you methods for accessors, mutators, and some of the typical corollaries to those two. If you want to know exactly what it does, and how it does it, I suggest that you just look at the source. There is a link always provided at the top of cpan documentation pages.

Abstract base class A. Derived from A are class B and C, both concrete. I hold a pointer to an object of class A, an instance which is either B or C. I have trouble with making the following work, while I think it should be possible: A *pA = new B; // One of... A *pA = new C; // ...these two

We are having a problem which appears similar to a previous posting: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&frame=right&th=d97f552e10f8c94c&seekm=OZw33z9EDHA.2312%40TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl#link1 In the current release of our system, we decided to "wrap" the ASP.NET Session and Application objects to improve code clarity and accuracy. For example, instead of: Session = new SomeListClass;

I'd like to take an instance of a class and store it in a database. I've marked my class as and am using the binary formatting code similar to http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconserializationconcepts.asp, although I'd be happy to use something else. What method should be used to store this serialized class in a SQL Server database? Likewise, what method should be used to recreate this...

All, I am currently developing an FTP class in VB.NET. It's kid tested, mother approved when trying to access an FTP Server on a Windows box meaning I can connect, run commands, upload and download a file no problem. My issues come when I try to use the same class with the same commands to access an FTP server on a UNIX box. I can connect and login just fine, but after that all my commands come back "500 'PWD': command not understood."....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
