Hello,
I have two different scripts that do pretty much the same thing. The main
perl script is on Windows. It runs and in the middle of it, it then calls
out another perl script that then should run on a Unix box I have. Both
scripts run ok, except for the part when Windows try's to call out the
Unix script. I have it set up where the Unix is mapped through a drive
letter and can drop stuff into the Unix box. It is going through another...

Here's my problem: I run a gameserver that runs the game "Medal of Honor".
On the game server is log file which contains all of the data from the
players for that day (kills, deaths, etc...). I have a perl script that runs
on my webserver, which is supposed to login to the gameserver and download
the log. The problem is that when it gets to the part where it needs to
download the file, it aborts. The gameserver FTP requires I use port 24...

I code Perl for CGI, I using regular expression to check the validation
of user input, because the form is small and it run only from my own
computer, anyways if many people using my form, do you think it will be
slow due to Perl is run under server. How about using JavaSCript to
check validation for user input? Do you think it a bit faster?

So, I download the latest "stable" tar for perl (5.8.7) and try to compile
it on the Solaris 8 (SPARC) box that I administrate. I try all sorts of
different switches, but I can't get it to compile. I need it to be
compiled with threads.
Anyone have any wisdom on how best to do this?
Here's a transcript of my latest attempt. It's long; you might want to
skip to the bottom, where I try "make" and the fatal errors start
happening.

A few days ago, i was trying to make my perl script an executable (with no success). but that's not the direction of my question (at least not right now).
Once i stopped trying to make the executable work, i ran my perl script as a perl script (*.pl), but now when the console window comes up when it runs, i noticed that it's running through C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe instead of C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe...which is causing the script to freak...

I got this apache errors(see section A1 and A2 below) when I used a html(see section b below) to activate acctman.pl(see section c below). Section D below is part of the configuration of section c.
Not sure where went wrong as the web page displayed internal server error.
Also, what is the error 543? and error 2114. Where to find the list of errors in websites as it is not the standard apache error. I could not find...
