HI...Here's my problem...I have a popup window that loads when i want it to,
but it's not sized properly. I've set the size, but it doesn't seem to
work. I've been on 8 different websites to find out what i'm doing wrong,
and so far it seems i'm doing it the right way. Here's my code...any
suggestions would be appreciated.
<script language="javascript">
<!--
window.open("256fx/index.htm", "", "height=400, width=600");
//-->

First, I'm sorry if this question has been asked
too many times. I'm new to this news group.
The question has to do with the use of popup
windows in a web page. I have heard that popup
windows should be avoided; due to use of popup
blockers and browser that do not process javascript.
Is the use of popup windows bad design?
Will it severly reduce the usage of our web page?

Hey guys....
i have a really big table... and the <tr> tags have onclick/onmouseover
events that highlight a row when you drag your mouse over it, and open a
popup window when you click anywhere in the row...
if i however have some text in the row that has an href link attached to it,
when i click on the link it will go to the href url AND open the popup
window...

During the last months I obeserved a growing number of web pages with popups
inside a web page. I don't know the technique by which these in-page-windows
are implemented (either Javascript or HTML?). They contain a "close" resp. "x"
button/link to click them away.
They are however not detectable by "normal" popup blockers.
How can I otherwise turn these popup windows automatically (!) off otherwise?

I am looking for code for a button on a website, and I want it to prevent
users from clicking more than once while their request is being processed. I
would like it to disable or hide the button once clicked and then enable it
after the process is completed from either the server or a web dialog box.
I did find a sample on disabling the button while the server is processing
their request and the sample was found here:

How do I answer the disable macro prompt automatically when opening an Excel
workbook? We are using Excel 97 and 2002. In 2002 we want the Medium
security (prompt user) to safeguard against e-mail attachments... but our
..NET app needs to open as Read-Only and Disable Macros at all times. Is
there a way to answer these questions programatically before opening the
workbook?
I'm also looking for any good references on the Excel object...

I hope someone can help with this problem:
I have a perl cgi form that has a popup_list. Based on a value that
is coming in from a database query, I want to either
1) display the value (from the databse) and let the user change it;
OR
2) display the value (from the database), but NOT let the user change
it.
I tried using javascript to disable the popup list, and that works,
except the form "loses" the value of the entry in the popup...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
