I was just wondering if it is safe to change thread priorities with thread
pool threads (threads used by System.Threading.Timer and those used by the
ThreadPool class itself).
Say I have a background task that runs periodically (it uses
System.Threading.Timer to do this). As the execution speed of this task is
not a priority, I want to be able to set the priority of the current thread

I'm writing my own task manager as I often change process priorities but have gotten myself into trouble on several occasions. I have discovered by keeping csrss.exe and explorer at the equal highest priority, I can keep the computer running ok, or at least recover. Hi,
I have a 120M record table that needs to have indexes added as a
background process. While running the CREATE INDEX command, which is
taking several days, all other SELECT queries on the same machine (on a
different database) are slowed dramatically.
Is there a way to reduce the CREATE INDEX priority so that other SELECT
queries can still function at normal speed?

I have a form which displays a DataGridView table generated with the VS2005
tools. The database is a Pervasive v.9 with an ODBC driver.
The DataGridView works great except when I'm done and I click the X to close
the form the .exe refuses to die and has to be killed in Task manager.
I ran a debug trace and it seems to work fine. I dropped a CLOSE button onto
the form and put "this.Close();" in for it's event but I get the same
result.
