Mass updating of dns zone files

I need to change the IP address of about 200 DNS records (zone files) and
also increase the serial number by one for each. Is there a script out
there to do this? I'm not a pro at perl scripting and my ISP has forced
this on me and so I'm under pressure to get this done asap.

Basically I need it done like this:

1) Look through all zone files for IP address X

2) If IP address X found, replace it with Y

3) Increment serial number for this record
If someone could help me I'd really appreciate it.

Hey all. I know with Perl "there's more than one way to do it", but I'd rather not reinvent the wheel... /usr/share/zoneinfo/Etc/ contains files like GMT-5 or GMT+8 etc which would be really handy for me to tweak $ENV{'TZ'} to play with dates and times, but I'm trying to find the 'best' approach to handle this scenario:

Hi, I have a USB mass storage device being developed by colleagues, and need to interface that to a Windows Forms application (C#). The device is neither purely a storage device nor an HID device, it is a combination of the two, so it seems expedient to use files to communicate PC <-> Device. The device can read AND WRITE files.

Has anyone ever accomplished a mass update off all databases, tables and columns for collation? If I try to change the collation/character set for the mysql daemon it breaks all of our queries because they conflict with the swedish default that they have been created with. The problem is we have about 90 databases with hundreds of tables. Is there an easy way to update all of these at once and that would allow me to start with the...

I'm a bit confused about SET TIME ZONE and its effect on PostgreSQL's date processing. In my experience with timestamps in all other *nix-based software systems, a timestamp is always a numeric representation of the time elapsed since the epoch, in GMT. Thus, a function that returns the current timestamp should always return the same value, regardless of timezone. The display of that value may change based on the system's timezone,...

I want to play media files stored on my computer on my TV, but I don't want to use the built-in TV-out card. Instead I want to use my stand alone DVD-player, which supports playing media files from a USB-stick. So, I want to connect my PC-to the DVD-player using a USB cablee and emulate USB-mass storage on the PC to "share" a folder as a USB-drive. How can this be done? BR // Jonas

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
