Hi, I am having a strange problem with the storage parameters in Oracle 9.2.0.1 database. I create a tablespace with some default storage parameters but when i am adding a table to the tablespace i can not override the NEXT statement? No matter what i set the NEXT storage parameters to, it is always the same as the tablespace default, the INITIAL is overriden just fine. I have included my script below, can someone please point out what...

Hi, I have a USB mass storage device being developed by colleagues, and need to interface that to a Windows Forms application (C#). The device is neither purely a storage device nor an HID device, it is a combination of the two, so it seems expedient to use files to communicate PC <-> Device. The device can read AND WRITE files.

My ASP page allows user to enter comments into a form. To avoid errors I'm having to strip out double quotes before saving to the database. Is there anyway to encode these so that I can store them instead, in the way was an URLEncode works? TIA, Col

Hi all, I'm getting very confused about how DB2 uses shared memory and I wonder if someone could clarify matters for me, please ? We are running 32bit DB2 V7.2 FP9 under AIX 4.3.3 on a machine with 64 Gb of memory with a single non-partitioned database using extended storage and with intra-parallelism enabled. I've been experimenting with changing various parameters in an attempt

Consider this statement in Excel's text Thinking in C++, Vol 2: /// 1 " A vector starts by grabbing a block of storage, as if it's taking a guess at how many objects you plan to put into it. As long as you don't try to put in more objects than can be held in the initial block of storage, everything proceeds rapidly. (If you do know how many objects to expect, you can preallocate storage using reserve().) " So now:

Hi, need some advice on URIs In a dynamic page (perl driven) we list a number of items presented in an hierarchical tree structure. Within that page is a form which allows you to search for items containing various strings (trying to get the users to *remember* CTRL+F was proving fruitless). The results are then presented at the top of the page with links to the relative anchor references (<a href="#foo">) . When clicked these would...

One thing I miss as I move from REALbasic to Python is the ability to have static storage within a method -- i.e. storage that is persistent between calls, but not visible outside the method. I frequently use this for such things as caching, or for keeping track of how many objects a factory function has created, and so on. Today it occurred to me to use a mutable object as the default value of a parameter. A simple example: def...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
