ObjectDataSourc e: UpdateParameter s ignored when specifying DataObjectTypeN ame?

I've got the following:

<asp:ObjectData Source ID="lu" runat="server" TypeName="cFact ory"
SelectMethod="G etLookup" UpdateMethod="U pdateLookup"
DataObjectTypeN ame="cLookupIte m">
<SelectParamete rs>
<asp:QueryStrin gParameter Name="which" QueryStringFiel d="lookup"
</SelectParameter s>
<UpdateParamete rs>
<asp:QueryStrin gParameter Name="which" QueryStringFiel d="lookup"
</UpdateParameter s>
</asp:ObjectDataS ource>

<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" DataSourceID="l u"
AutoGenerateCol umns="False">
<asp:BoundFie ld DataField="Name " />
<asp:CommandFie ld ShowEditButton= "True" />

Rather simple little one-column editable gridview.

My problem is with the update parameters. If I specify
DataObjectTypeN ame, the UpdateParameter s section of the
ObjectDataSourc e seems to be ignored: "ObjectDataSour ce 'lu' could not
find a non-generic method 'UpdateLookup' that takes parameters of type

Is that normal? I'd like to pass my object plus selected other
parameters to the update method. If I omit the DataObjectTypeN ame, I
correctly get "ObjectDataSour ce 'lu' could not find a non-generic
method 'UpdateLookup' that has parameters: which, Name."

Obviously, I could write the update method to take which and Name as
parameters, but there are other cases which use other properties of the
cLookupItem object. I'd hate to have to make different update methods
for each.
From what I can tell, it is EITHER DataObjectTypeN ame OR

<updateparamete rs> but NOT both. Can someone verify that? Seems a bit

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
