I'm new to ASP and database programming but I am trying to connect to a database using a concatenation of a strings and a menu item from a form. Ok here's what I have... an asp form that has a dropdown menu list that finds *.mdb files in the current folder. It also has a 'Select' button on it. I want the user click select and either in this page or another (not sure which is best?) make a connection to the database using the strPath...

Hello, I've run into a potentially wrong design decision on a project and want to find out if my intended change is the best fix. I have a page that displays historical time-series data using a datagrid. The browser can modify the timeframe displayed by selecting a value from a dropdown list of 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or previous months.

I placed data in 25 separate dropdown list. (made them invisible on form) each time they pick next I add 1 and do something like this for each field CurrentRecord += 1 (test for upper bounds and less then 0) ddName.selectedindex = CurrentRecord

I inherited a database (as a novice at Access) and need to modify it to make it more efficient, i.e., the assignment form needs to autopopulate with the client's name, address, phone number, etc., when you select the cust id. Found this cited as a good method: http://www.mvps.org/access/forms/frm0058.htm I have two tables (clients, assignments) and one form (assignment input) in the database. I have a control box called CUST ID in the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
