The example in the previous post is self join. the table is joined to itself using two alias for the same table.

I have been losing sleep over this puzzle, and I'm convinced my train of thought is heading in the wrong direction. It is difficult to explain my circumstances, so I will present an identical make-believe challenge in order to avoid confusing the issue further. Suppose I was hosting a dinner and I wanted to invite exactly 12 guests from my neighborhood. I'm really picky about that... I have 12 chairs besides my own, and I want them all...

Hi folks, I have a problem with an MS Access SQL query which is being used in an Access Report, and am wondering if anyone can help. Basically, my query (shown below) gets some records from a couple of tables in my database using INNER JOINS and the WHERE clause to specify the required constraints. However, I also want to read two fields from a *single* record from a table called 'Locations' and then apply one of these field's values...

Not sure if this is a good approach or not, but I'd like to hear some informed opinions. I've designed an ECommerce site that interfaces with my company's POS system. I'm trying to make it as flexible as possible because we resell it to our clients and they all have different needs and preferences. So the items for sale are displayed in a datagrid, and in the ItemDataBound event, I construct a URL with query strings so that when an item...

I'm not too good with advanced SQL queries, so please bear with me on this. I have a query with multiple joins that I am trying to get just the last 10 of each unique record (RecordID) displayed. The problem is that some records have more than one photo assigned to the same RecordID and I only need one of them displayed for the results table. All photos will be displayed on the details page. I tried to use the DISTINCT command but it...

Once upon a time, there lived a chimpanzee called Luycha Bandor (aka Playboy Chimp). Luycha was unhappily married to Bunty Mona, a short but cute little lady chimp. Luycha was tall and handsome – he was feeling uncomfortable taking Bunty to public places along with him. People would stare at them all the while. At one point, Luycha could not stand it anymore and he decided to do some justice to his name. He started looking for a new hope in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
