I have a problem getting ADOdb working with Oracle 9i. Before I tried
to connect to Oracle, I successfully connected to an MS Access table
via a DSN, and looped through all the records in that table, so I am
pretty sure ADOdb is installed correctly, but I could be wrong. To
connect to Oracle 9i, I first go in and un-comment
extension=php_oci8.dll and extension=php_oracle.dll in the php.ini
file, but when I do that, the CGI script always...

I can't get this configuration working:
cx_Oracle 4.0.1
Oracle 8.0.6
Python 2.3.3
Win NT4.0 SP6fc
My first shot at the problem was just running the installation thingie
pre-built for win32/python2.3/Oracle8i. It installed with no complaints but
I can't import the module (can't find OCIEnvCreate entry point in the
OCI.dll library).

I am trying to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1, 32 bit) on Windows XP Pro
(version 2002, SP 1, Intel P3), but I get an error claiming that Oracle
requires Service Pack 1 or greater, which it thinks my system does not have.
In reality, my system does have service pack 1 and the install doesn't seem
to recognize that. I even tried installing Service Pack 1a, with no
difference.
How can I convince the Oracle install that I do have service pack...

Hello,
Disclaimer: I'm a TOTAL rookie.
I just went through unistalling Oracle to be able to install
Discoverer, which was succesful. (Our in-house Oracle support person
said that if I did the Oracle_home renaming workaround, Oracle would
not support it.) Now I just tried re-installing Oracle 9i and I
encountered the same problem: it won't let me install on an Oracle
home where there are Oracle 7 or 8.0 components (!)

I was having problems installing cx_Oracle on Solaris. The build would
fail with a message:

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
