Hello, we are using Oracle 9i for client and server and Powerbuilder
8.0.3. We have a database link between two databases, whenever I try
to do a simple select, update or insert I get the following error. Any
idea why?
"ORA-02041: client database did not begin a transaction"
This is the sql I am using. It works fine if I am on sql plus. I have
also tried to "using sqlca" as well as creating a new transaction for

Hi !
I am trying to install oracle 9i Standard edition on a windows 2000
SP4 machine. I get through the entire installation up to running the
Database Configuration Assistant.
While it tries to make the database, it gets to the "Creating and
starting
Oracle instance" stage, and then the errors start. I get:
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed.
ORA-00205: error in identifying control file. check alertlog for more

after bringing up the database, i am using the netca (Oracle Net
Services Configuration assistant). When i try to create a listener and

Hey,
how can I get ORA-..... error messages in languages other than
english.
I did a
alter session set NLS_LANG='GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8ISO8859P1';
but this only threw an ORA-00922.
Or I'm wrong and NLS_LANGUAGE and NLS_TERRITORY doesn't have an effect
on the text of ORA- error messages at all?

My application runs fine when I am using SQL Server 2000 as its db,
but it gives a message "Invalid attribute/identifier" error when the
db is Oracle .

I am trying to use the OracleDatatAdapter to connect to an oracle version
7.3.4.4 server. I am using an oracle 9i client. When i configure the adapter,
the connection works and i can select from the tables. But I get an error
after I select a table and the select sql is generated. I get a " ORA-01002:
fetch out of sequence " error.
This is the first time I have tried to connect to Oracle - am I forgetting
something?

I'm getting this oracle error intemittently Error Description:
ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error. I'm not sure
what is causing this. My application is a ASP.Net 2.0 application is
using Microsoft Oracle Provider to connect to the oracle database. This
happens only in Porduction environment or I should say that I have not
been able to product it myself.
