I'm running PHP Version 4.3.10. I'm trying to make it so that when a person logs in using a user name and password that their session is valid and continues for a few months so they don't have to log in each time they come to the site. In a .htaccess file I set session.cookie_lifetime to 20736000 seconds and I set session.gc_maxlifetime to 20736000 It works for about 30 minutes. A user can login and then close their browser and then...

I am having a problem executing long running queries from an ASP application which connects to SQL Server 2000. Basically, I have batches of queries that are run using ADO in a loop written in VBScript. This works pretty well until the execution time of a single query starts to exceed some threshold, which I am trying to narrow down. I can typically run 2 - 10 queries in a loop, with the run time being anywhere from under a minute to an...

Hello! I've got a problem with an ASP.NET app... The app is running in conjunction with the Session State server, and they both run on the same machine. I've changed the default timeouts in my Web.config file to be timeout="120" for 120 minutes, but the users still time out (and thus have to re-login) after 20 minutes. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Hi, I have developed an ASP.NET application which has been running in production for around 3 months without any major glitches. Recently, a user was attempting to upload a rather large CSV file and ran into a strange problem. After roughly 3 minutes of processing, the application reprompted the user for their user name and password (NT authentication). At this point, the ASP.NET page re-fired the last event that it was processing.

Hi all, I have a asp.net form which our clients use to upload their data into our database. The form takes and Excel file, validates it then inserts each row into the database. If any errors are found then they are displayed in a text box on the form. Internally the validation and the data insertion is performed by a Java application which then system.outs the errors which I read using a VB.Net StreamReader object and display on the...

Hi, I am facing an issue here. I had to drop a number of columns (around 20) from a table, which I tried to do all at the same time using the following command. Alter table table_name drop column <column1drop column <column2> drop column <column3>.............................drop column <column20> The above command was successful.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
