Given you asked in an ORACLE account, ask your DBA about OPSYS
accounts. (did I spell it right? I think there was a $ in there like
OP$SYS?)

anyway it's in the DBA manuals.

I'm fairly new to configuring server.xml and web.xml files in tomcat 4. I am trying to require password authentication for access to a subdirectory called "update" located within ROOT. I want all files located directly in ROOT to be available without a password. I am having trouble determing the correct path to use for the <url-pattern> in the web.xml file in WEB-INF so that only the files in the subdirectory "update" within ROOT are...

I put a little login (username and password textfields) in a web page, and once the user able to login, I want the username and password textfields will disappear, and replace with text " has Login!]" in the same position. My question is how to make the username and password textfields disappear and replace with " has Login!]" in the same position? This is the code I have done so far, but it has another problem: Even I first check if...

Hi all, I'm back with another XML question. We covered this briefly before, but I'm still having problems with it. Basically what I need to do is be able to add, delete and update nodes and their attributes in an XML file. Here's a sample of an XML file I might use: <root> <settings> <setting name="timeout">50</setting>

Hi all, I have a problem with using myCommand.ExecuteScalar(). My question is : If the Web setup is incorrect, does it make command ExecuteScalar() work improperly ?? In my program, I was using ExecuteScalar() to count the number of records from the query. The return value is always 0. If number record is 0 then it will go the Page1.aspx page by (response.redirect) . If not, it will go to Page2.aspx page. The result is it's...

Hello - I have read many threads regarding back-end security and have found them all useful. I have a couple of (what seem to be basic) questions: I have a secured front-end and back-end database. (I did use the security wizard for this.) By using the shortcuts provided, both files require a password to get in. Here is the problem: if I try to access the front-end through Windows

I've just started checking this out. I've got it to work alright with one exception. It is a secured MDE, so I've setup all the INI file options for it. The problem is that the UserID I setup for it to use to do the version test, seems to need more than the claimed 'minimum rights'. I haven't figured out what specifically it needs rights to, but it is somewhere between our base level (does not have access to sensitive data) and our Manager...

I am having trouble with uploading a file to a website. I can not figure what I am doing wrong. I have a .asp file that you put a username and password in that is connected to a database. One of the buttons you push is "Add Press Releasses". It prompts you to choose your file and when you select the upload button it just refreshes. Here is the code: this part works: Dim Stage Dim Count, i Dim Action

I want to add the security question and answer security feature to the ChangePassword control. I am aware that this functionality is built into the PasswordRecovery tool. I have implemented the PasswordRecovery with a Password reset required; a temporary password is sent to the account on file. I want an extra layer of security to accommodate the very unlikely contingency that someone's e-mail account is compromised. Challenging with the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
