I think I'm doing something wrong. I'm able to connect to Oracle just
fine, execute queries and all, but I'm having serious problems with
the speed :(
For example, the following PHP-script on my machine executes about 6
seconds:
<?
$db_conn = ocilogon("my_username", "my_password", "my_database");
$loop_count = 1000;

I installed Oracle 8i in Sun Solaris and set Oracle main table space

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to install Oracle 9 on my Windows XP Pro laptop so I can play
around. I downloaded the 3 ZIP files specified on the Oracle site
(92010NT_Disk1.zip) and unzipped them into their respective Disk1, Disk2,
Disk3 folders. I then run the setup.exe in Disk1, the drive churns for 10-15
seconds, then nothing happens. No error messages, nothing. I've tried
running the autorun, I get the Splash logo with the menu, I...

What is the *truth* when it comes to configuring Oracle files on an
Enterprise Virtual Array like an HP EVA3000 or EVA5000 or an EMC
Symmetrix frame.
As I Understand It -
A Virtual Array is a storage appliance with a large number of disks
(say over 50), dual-path controller access and, significantly, a very
large disk cache. The cache is supported by front-end and back-end
(disk-side) processors and a range of algorithms that aim to...

Hi. I have two servers in the same MS network area:
1: MS 2000 Server, with an Oracle 9 installed (with license 1), and a DB1.
2: MS 2003 Enterprise R2, with an Oracle 10.2.0.3 installed (with license 2), and a DB2.
I want to realize a daemon/script/cmd to backup DB1 to prevent any type of inactivity/anomaly (oracle.exe at 100% during improbable day time, other relevant job that required more system resources) of the server 1, and to...

I don't think there is. Also Oracle doesn't support network installs.
And disk is cheap, even in Australia ;-)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
