Is it worth looking into putting Oracle 8.1.7 on a Win2k3
cluster.
Only Oracle 9.2.0 is certified on a W2k3 cluster, but applications
(support contracts) prevent us from upgrading to Oracle 9.
Experience anyone?

we just upgrade a win2k server to win2k3. First we depromoted it, then
we made the upgrade. The webs with ASP worked OK.
Then we made the DCPROMO and promoted it.
After restart ASP's won't work.

I've installed win2k3 sp1 on a machine where an openRead on any given file
was previously working. After installation, I get a webException as follows...
..message "An exception occurred during a webclient request"

We are using ODP.net (version 9.2.0.4.01) as data provider for Oracle
in our dotnet app. Currently we are using Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1
(VS.net IDE 2003) in our project.
One thing I feel strange is that every time the ASPX application ended
(closed and disposed the connection object), the Oracle session
connection never killed.
These eventually bring us to oracle connections used up situation :(

I have an application that runs on mod_python/apache using the publisher
handler. It uses an access db as the backend and connects via ADO. In a
test environment on XP it runs fine, but when on a win2k3 server it will
load one page, but all subsequent page loads throw a
pythoncom.CoInitializeEX error until I restart the apache.
Presumably, this is a threading issue, but I am not sure what the best
approach to fixing it is. Should I...

My communication between my Oracle Client 9.2.0.5 running on Win2k3 SP1 communicating with Oracle 10.1.0.3 server on RHEL 3 ES. My application would lose communication after some time. I can see the SESSION in Oracle server as active but the Client seem to have lost communication.
Has anyone ran into this issue before and have an idea how to resolve it?

My following program code works fine on win 2K server but the same is not working on win2K3 server. It's showing error as page cannot be displayed. After debugging, I found that fso.opentextfile is not working over win2k3. Can anybody pl. explain why it's not working and how to solve it?

think that is sql server 2000). It has profiler and query analyzer

Our network consists of two Win2k Server DC's, with several other Win2k3 servers. I cannot find where I can configure terminal services access within the GPO for the user in question. In Win2k3 server, it is \Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment. Is there an equivalent in Win2k GPO?

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
