I am getting a strange symptom: tnsping and sqlplus work fine on my LINUX
server (neo) so the listener and DB are OK. However, from my remote XP
Client (tank) I get TNS-12560. I can ping the neo from tanks and tank from
neo so it isn't a network problem. The trace file shows that in can't start
the transport layer due to an error 530:
Tns error struct:
nr err code: 0
ns main err code: 12560
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

Hi There.
I'm getting this error when running a dot net application.
We get through the (all custom) login screen fine and dandy. When we click
on the link to bring up a datagrid of invoices, we get this error.
Funny thing is, it works when running the app from a desktop pc, but not
when we run it in the web environment... ie. http://appname

hiiiiiiiiii i was using my sql*plus in new user a/c that was member of users group on my pc now after some time i logged on admin a/c and change the login password my sql* plus using this

and i log in again in sql and easily logged on and then i made changes in new user,made it memeber of administrator

HI Hello,
I'm new to linux platform. I have installed oracle xe server in Fedora core 4. The installation is gone smoothly and it is working in that machine.
I want to connect oracle client(9i) which is running in the windows xp.
I have added a oracle service using the net manager to the database(XE) running in the linux server.
But when i trying to connect to that DB it shows TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.

I have this traditional error "ORA-12560:TNS:Protocol Adapter Error"
when trying to connect to my Oracle 8i databases on Netware (i.e when
i load svrmgr31, plus81, etc...)
Listener seems to work properly (instances are present).
I would like to check up Oracle environment on Netware but how? If
