USB Internet through RJ-45 Adapter

1 New Member
I'm able to use my cell phone for on the go internet through a USB port configured as a dial-up modem. I get 2-3mb download speed but there's some unwanted delays using this approach. I was wondering if I can configure the computer with windows 7 64bit OS to allow me to use this same internet using a USB to RJ-45 ethernet adapter so I can plug it into my laptop ethernet plug. Is this possible and how?

I did a quick search for "cell phone to rj45 adaptor" and found this on the first page. Don't know if it will work, but you could always try it.

Regards,

Jeff

But it's not working from the Internet. To access it from the Internet I have modify the line $cfg = 'http://www.myserver.com/php/phpmyadmin';

Hi, I'm writing an application that needs to know if an Internet connection is available. Basically, I want to have something similar to what a lot of email clients have, where the app can work either in "online" or "offline" mode (it keeps a cache of downloaded info, so it can work without a connection if needed). The basic problem is this: it downloads info (RSS feeds) from a variety of sources. Any one (or more) of these could...

I am just starting to learn Perl. I had an idea that there should be free open-source Internet Cafe management software for Linux. I searched around online but couldn't find anything. The program would be appealing to anyone wanting to offer Internet access to their customers, from Internet Cafes to hotels. Who wants to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for Internet Cafe management software? If running Linux, one could put together...

I'm facing a problem where I need to verify that my windows forms application has access to the internet before it can do anything. Currently, the only way I can think of is by creating a HttpWebRequest and point it to the specified URL I wish to connect to later on, and if that throws an error, I know I don't have an internet connection. Is this the best method for detecting an internet connection, or is there some sort of routine that I need...

I am starting to study internet synchronization, and my head is still spinning since internet is not my forte, however my boss is breathing down my neck at the moment. Our company has only one server with fixed IP address provided by our ISP, while the other sites (which I wish in the future hold the replicas databases) have only standard internet connections with Dynamic IP (which means that they change IP addresses, as given by the ISP...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
