Slowing down of a web conferencing session

2 New Member
Does anyone else experience slowing down of a web conferencing session when 5 or more people join in the meeting? Our web conferences slow down considerably and are driving me nuts.

That's an interesting issue. I'm guessing these are remote sessions, as why else would you need a web conference, but just to cover the bases, is this accurate?

Also, is this a purchased solution (ie, is this something you could bring up to the vendor and either examine known issues, or receive support on this)?

I'm guessing, if this is either a free solution or support is costly (which it usually is), that it will be necessary to map out your network, and get the specs and settings on your network hardware to make sure you can handle the load.

yeah we do a lot of remote support and the web conferencing sessions are generally with clients as well as remote staff. I am using a hosted solution right now. I was wondering if this was a web conferencing issue or an issue with our machines.

If you're using a hosted solution, then I'm guessing you have a support contract with the vendor, and I would recommend starting there - they can narrow down the problem a lot quicker than I could (mostly because they're already in your network and know the capabilities and requirements of their devices...)

I'm writing a script with a while loop in it. How can I get it to go slower so that it doesn't appear to happen all at once--so that it looks animated--basically. I tried the setTimeout(500) in the last line of the loop, but that just messes things up. Any help would be appreciated--thanks.

I have two different python programs that are slowing down quite a bit as their memory use goes up. I'm not really sure if this is some sort of CPU cache effect, or if it's something about python's garbage collector taking more time, or what. One of the programs is one of those "how fast is data moving through the pipe" measurement tools, called reblock. I'd initially expected that the program would run faster with large block sizes,...

Hi All, I have a private website created using HTML/PHP. Within this site, there is a page that has a form (question.php), which is populated depending on the question number that has been posted to it. When the form is submitted, the data is posted back to the same page (question.php), and the code within the page saves the posted data, and displays the next question, and so it goes on...

Hi I want to create a very basic conferencing functionality. Are there any controls that allow VOIP conferencing, preferably something cheap. The simpler the better as I am a asp.net developer and new to winforms.

Dear all have a msdn subsciption and was wondering if I can post a Silverlight question here. I was wondering if Silverlight gives webcam support like flash does this. With this, it is possible to make conferencing solutions. As far as I read in ohter posts Silverlight 2 is not able to do this unless you use a McGyver style (http://jonas.follesoe.no/PermaLink,guid,7f8857dc-5f37-4a8a-bd35-fd4b624af45b.aspx).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
