Hi,

can you authenticate with the AD server - get onto its shares or website using the administrator id ? you may need to prepend the domain ie

Hi everyone, I'm currently studying for my Master's in Computer Science, and I will be working on my thesis this summer. I've been thinking about constructing a web services application for my thesis, as I've been interested in this technology, and I haven't had a chance to work with it in my last job. The issue is what platform to use: ..NET or J2EE? Prior to starting my MSc course, I worked for a software developer for five years...

I had stopped all database services before running the setup program for upgrading from 7.2 to 8.1. During the installation process though, I got a message to the effect saying the tools server could not be installed because no start database command was issued. Does anyone know how I can now install the tools server separately? Should I simply re-install the DB2 8.1 and hope that this would install the missing tools? Or can I re-install...

After rebuilding my Win2K computer and installing MS Office premium 2K edition I cannot install the VBA tools from the ODE tools CD. When I start the installation I get a message saying that I should install a program that uses VBA first and, if I continue, the option to install the VBA tools is greyed out. I have Access 2K running and VBA works fine so it is installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office to no effect. I...

I have been developing an app in VB.Net, using a simple form and a button to kick off a class that starts asynchronously receiving from a MessageQueue. It's been working fine, but now I'm moving toward converting it to a Windows Service, so I switched from instantiating the clsMsgReceiver class at the Button_Click to a simple Main() that does the same thing. I'm stumped -- when started from Main(), the BeginReceive() works only if...

Does anyone know how to correctly setup the Administration DB for fail over clustering on a MSCS server running DB2. Problem I have when I follow IBM's docs is that I install the Tools catalog on the first node but when I failover the cluster to the second node - DB2's Task Center no longer works since the Tools Catalog still points to the first node. Is there anyway to re-catalog the tools db so

I have Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) and the SS 2005 Developer that comes with it, all of which I can install on my local XP box. 1. Which one do I install first, VSTO or SS 2005 Developer?? 2. Regardless of which one is installed first, what's the best way after that to move or copy database objects like tables, queries, reports, etc. from the XP/developer box to an SS 2005 Server?? Thank you, Tom

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
