Certificate principal mismatch

Hi guys I am running a windows 2003 sbs and get this error when connecting to my outlook from the outside or inside the network. It always says when connecting to https://server/exchange that there is a certificate mismatch. How and where can I solve this? Some useful steps would be nice. Do I need to buy a certificate from verisign? When I connect from outside I go to https://mystaticipaddre ss/exchange

It is saying that the mismatch is in the ip address versus domain name.

Thanks guys.

I still need help on this.... So far I got this tool, Microsoft exchange server best practices analyzer tool and it show me the error for the certificate and gives me options to solve it by buying a certificate from verisign and other companies. But I can't believe that there is no other ways of solving this issue, there is got to be a setting somewhere. Anybody have suggestions?

I wish I could help here - but I don't really have anything to contribute.
You could look at the setting in the OS Security which insists that all Trusted Domains use https://. Otherwise nothing from me :(

I am working on a special ASP.Net application that receives files from customers. The connection is made via HTTPS and the client sends the file as a POST to my ASP.Net listener. All of this works fine. Now I am looking at how to validate the clients certificate programmatically. The client application sends to me with something like: .... Dim myHttp As HttpWebRequest = CType(WebRequest.Create(https://myserver/Receive.aspx),...

I have a custom Principal (implements System.Security.Principal.IPrincipal interface) that I need to access from a WebService. My web application has the Thread.CurrentPrincipal set to this new Principal object, as well as HttpContext.Current.User. But when I access either Thread.CurrentPrincipal or HttpContext.Current.User from the Web Service, they are not the same as those set in the Web Application (and I can see why). My question...

Hi, I'd like to store X509 cetificates in a central location (file server, database, etc), and load them when needed, is it practical ? and in term of implementation, can this be achieved by subclass 'securityTokenManager'? has anyone done something similar and shed some lights on it? thanks, -Jason

The Python SSL object offers two methods from obtaining the info from an SSL certificate, "server()" and "issuer()". The actual values in the certificate are a series of name/value pairs in ASN.1 binary format. But what "server()" and "issuer()" return are strings, with the pairs separated by "/". The documentation at "http://docs.python.org/lib/ssl-objects.html" says "Returns a string containing the ASN.1 distinguished name identifying...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
