Hi All,
I would like to trace all remoting calls happen from the client. I got a
rough idea of creating custom service and injecting into the object/message
chain. Now i want to pass the user information to the remote server, i used
AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetThreadPrincipal( Thread.CurrentPrincipal );
before making call from client, but in my interception logic i tried to read
the user principal but no luck...iam getting null string.

I'm making a call to a webservice from my ASP.NET page. The web
application has anonymous access turned off and Integrated Windows auth
turned on. The web.config has <identity impersonate=true>. I set the
credentials of the web service proxy to the DefaultCredentials. Right
before I make the call, I print out the WindowsIdentity, and it is
showing the right identity. So I know the web application is
authenticating properly. However,...

Hi,
I use Custom Principal and it works well on my PC (Localhost).
When I deploy it at my hosting service it fails.
I print out HttpContext.Current.User.GetType().ToString()
On my PC it is CustomPrincipal.

Hi folks,
I would be interested to hear peoples views on whether or not 'pass by
reference' is allowed when using a Web Service method.
The thing that troubles me about pass-by-reference into a WebService is that
essentially we are passing an address of an object which resides on the
'local machine' i.e. a local machine object address. Surely when the
WebService method is called and run 'on the server', the reference type will
be...

windows services project.
I want to call my Windows application in my windows services.
I want to run them as seperate process.
If my windows application starts running,only if it completes fully,
then my windows services should continue its execution.
My main process is Windows service.

Hi everyone,
I'm using WCF authentication services in my current project. I used
the following information as a starting point:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb398990.aspx
Unfortunately, I can't manage to get/set the generic principal when I
call other services. The authentication cookie is always null. I've
included some of my Global.asax code below. Any help would be greatly
appreciated:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
