can't install visual studio .net 1.00


Just received vista business on a laptop from dell.
For delvelopment am using vistual studio .net 1.1 but have always (
2000 , xp)
had to vistual studio .net 1.0 first.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Why do you have to install .NET 1.0 first? It is not a requirement for .NET
1.1.

1.0 does not specify Vista in the system requirements, but 1.1 does. I
would go straight to that, if your visual studio version is supported on
Vista.

I don't believe any version of VS prior to VS2005 is supported on Vista. The
runtimes are, but the IDE is not.
