I placed dotnetfx.exe on my install medium, put the relative path to
to it in my launch condition properties installurl property, it asks
if I want to install it, and does the install, but it doesn't continue
installing the application itself, and when I try to rerun the setup I
get an error stating that the install was interrupted and I need to
restart the install, which is what I just did. No further attempts to
install, even after reboot, will get past that point. I recompiled my
installer with just the path to where the dotnetfx.exe file is, and
uninstalled the framework, then re-installed. this time it opened
explorer pointing to the proper directory, whcih is what I expected,
but after installing framework I get the same error. How do I get
this to properly install the framework and complete the application
install? My first install pointed me by default to the download site
at microsoft, I was able to download and install the framework, and
after rebooting I was able to rerun the setup.exe for my app and
install successfully.
I know I can just write my own install that checks for the framework
and mdac and install them in that fashion, but it seems like this
would be a simple way to do it.
