Problem with Request.QuerySt ring

1 New Member
Hi I am having problems passing data to a webservice from a querystring

So I have a link in an email which points to
http://www.test.com/confirmdetails. aspx?AuthNo=112 24442

On the confirmdetails. aspx page I have a call to a webservice which basically updates a database.

All I do on confirmdetails. aspx is as follows

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. string strAuthNo = Request.QueryString["AuthNo"].ToString();
And then call the webservice

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. webservice.confirmdetails(strAuthNo);
Now when I click the link in the email once I get the followng error

Input string was not in a correct format

If I then just click in the address bar and press enter then it works fine. What is it about the link in the email that makes this not work?

I have had similar issues (when the browser in question was IE)
It turned out to be related to the cache settings for me.
(i was setting the "no cache" setting and ie was puking on it)

Hello. This is the first time I've posted to a newsgroup, and I do this because I'm in desperate need of help. I'm working a user management system, and when I activate a user that has registered to my system, the current admin user logged in gets logged out. I can't seem to work out how - I can't even trace back where some of the variables are coming from (for example, the "ref" part of the Request.QueryString method). Could someone...

Hello - I pass an item to an asp page as a query string. The value has a space in it. On the receiving page, the value displays fine just as a variable, but if I use it to pre-fill an input box, only the first word displays. Ex: The URL- http://myserver.com/test.asp?Item=Blue%20Vase The page <http> <body>

Hi, I'm writing Javascript code to parse out a query string. I want to handle the case where a parameter value may not be sent. So consider a parameter called "State". If the user doesn't pass that in if I do this: var state = <%=Request.QueryString%> This returns an undefined object that I can't seem to do any checks

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
